It is amazing really when you think about it, how time plays into everything we do. Where we choose to spend our time and what we do in those moments are the truest reflection of our values, what we hold dear.
So it is no surprise that the National Obesity Observatory Report found that lack of time was the 2nd highest cited barrier for being overweight, only just behind that of work commitment. There are so many people who will not put themselves first and live by what other people want, which means that parts of themselves will suffer because of it.
Yet it is really because they don’t have enough time?
What about if something did come up that was higher in their priorities? Perhaps making time to go on holiday? Maybe they need to attend their child’s school play. Or possibly it is something more urgent such as needing to visit a doctor or even a close dying relative. I’m sure they will find time for these things.
In fact some people will find time to watch TV every night, go to the pub every night or play computer games for hours on end. None of these things are wrong. Though, if these resonate they all show you what you value the most in life.
The thing is if you truly want to change, then you have to value it enough to make time for it. Schedule it in. Let it take priority. For when you do that is when the magic starts to happens and you can truly transform.
